Five Indian Troops Killed and Five Injured in Attack in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir


Jammu: In a violent confrontation in Kathua district, five Indian troops, including a Junior Commissioned Officer and a head constable, were killed and another five were injured. The attack, which targeted two Indian army vehicles with grenades and automatic rifle fire, occurred on Monday afternoon in the Badnota village near Jenda nullah in the Loi Malhar tehsil of the Billawar area.



According to Kashmir Media Service, the Indian troops who lost their lives in the attack were identified as JCO Anant Singh, Head Constable Kamal Singh, Rifleman Anuj Singh, and Rifleman Asarsh Singh, with one of the injured succumbing later at a military hospital. The condition of the other injured troops remains critical.



The attack led to an immediate response from Indian troops and elite forces who sealed the area and launched a comprehensive cordon and search operation, continuing into Tuesday as per the last reports.
