First Trilateral Meeting of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan Focuses on Enhancing Regional Connectivity

Islamabad, In a significant step towards regional integration, the first trilateral meeting of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan was conducted in Islamabad, focusing on strengthening economic ties and enhancing connectivity among the three nations.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting was co-chaired by the Commerce Ministers of Pakistan and Afghanistan and the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan. The primary agenda of the discussions was to improve trade relations, with a specific emphasis on reducing trade barriers, simplifying customs procedures, and facilitating smoother cross-border trade.

The ministers also explored various investment opportunities in different sectors, highlighting the potential for joint ventures, public-private partnerships, and increasing foreign direct investment. Another critical topic of discussion was the enhancement of transportation networks and infrastructure development to streamline the movement of goods across borders.

Pakistan Commerce Minister Dr. Gohar Ejaz, speaking at the meeting, expressed optimism that this trilateral cooperation would significantly contribute to economic growth in all three countries. He emphasized that by combining their strengths and resources, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan could access new markets and expand their economies, marking a new era of regional cooperation and connectivity.
