Islamabad, The Commerce Ministers of Pakistan and Afghanistan, along with the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, co-chaired the inaugural trilateral meeting in Islamabad, focusing on strengthening economic ties and regional cooperation.
According to Press Information Department reported that the meeting aimed to enhance trade relations among the three countries, discussing ways to reduce trade barriers, simplify customs procedures, and facilitate smoother cross-border trade.
The ministers explored various sectors for potential investment, aiming to create opportunities for joint ventures, public-private partnerships, and increased foreign direct investment. Recognizing the pivotal role of regional connectivity, the discussions included enhancing transportation networks and promoting infrastructure development to ease the movement of goods.
Dr. Gohar Ejaz, Pakistan’s Commerce Minister, remarked, “The trilateral cooperation is a significant step towards stimulating economic growth in all three countries. Leveraging their strengths and resources, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan can access new markets and expand their economies.” He emphasized the importance of economic interdependence and cooperation as a foundation for sustainable development and prosperity in the region.
