Islamabad, First Lady Begum Samina Alvi emphasized the importance of raising awareness about breast cancer during a function titled “Pink together Strong Forever 2023” in Islamabad. She highlighted the need for self-examination habits among women and expressed satisfaction over the progress made in spreading awareness over the past five years.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Begum Alvi pointed out the lack of a Breast Cancer Data Collection Center in Pakistan, stressing the need for improvement in this sector to present Pakistan’s case more effectively globally. Additionally, she called for ensuring job quotas for differently-abled persons, advocating for a supportive work environment for individuals with disabilities in government and private institutions.
