First Kashmir Advisory Committee Meeting Discusses IIOJK Situation

Islamabad, the first consultative meeting of the Kashmir Advisory Committee, formed under the leadership of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, took place to deliberate on the developing situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, the establishment of the Kashmir Advisory Committee is a crucial step in implementing the 100-day plan initiated by the SAPM. The meeting, held on Saturday, saw attendance from notable figures from various fields, including Ms. Sabien Hussein Mullick (Focal Person of the SAPM), Syed Yousuf Naseem (APHC), Mr. Farooq Rehmani (APHC), and other dignitaries. They engaged in a comprehensive discussion on immediate and long-term strategies to address India’s unlawful actions in IIOJK.

The committee members provided valuable insights and recommendations concerning the recent Indian Supreme Court decision that affirmed the annulment of Kashmir’s special status by the Indian Government. Mushaal Hussein Mullick raised concerns about the influence of BJP and RSS ideologies on the Indian Judiciary and questioned the timing of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Act introduced by Amit Shah and Modi. She suggested that the act, introduced just weeks before the Supreme Court’s verdict, indicated a possible foreknowledge of the decision by the Modi-led government.

Mushaal highlighted the significant challenges faced in 2023, particularly the situations in Palestine and IIOJK. She emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts among people in both regions, underlining their shared struggle for self-determination. She called for global attention to the escalating atrocities in these regions and urged collective action to address human rights concerns.

The unity across society in supporting the cause of Kashmir was underscored, with particular recognition given to the role of the Kashmiri diaspora in raising global awareness of human rights violations in IIOJK. Mushaal also expressed concern over India’s actions, including the elimination of peaceful Kashmiri leaders and the ban on peaceful political parties, driving Kashmiri youth towards alternative means of freedom pursuit.

Reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to the Kashmiri people, Mushaal affirmed continued moral, diplomatic, and political support for the oppressed population of the region. She advocated for strong measures to uplift the morale of the people of IIOJK.

The meeting concluded with Mushaal expressing gratitude for the invaluable recommendations from participants. She assured that these insights would be disseminated to relevant stakeholders for further consideration and action.
