‘Firing was one sided’, Mehbooba punctures Indian police claim on Rambagh killings

Srinagar, November 25, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic President Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday questioned the legitimacy of so-called gunfight in Srinagar’s Rambagh area where Indian troops killed three youth in cold blood.

While taking to her Twitter handle Mehbooba said, “After yesterday’s alleged encounter at Rambagh legitimate doubts are looming over its authenticity. As per reports and witnesses it seems that the firing was one sided. Again the official version far from truth is not in line with ground realities as seen in Shopian, HMT and Hyderpora.”

Her comments come after eyewitnesses, who were at the spot, said that the youth were killed in cold blood and that if they were militants and had weapons they would have retaliated. They said if the police had any suspicion over them they could have arrested them.

“Three men were standing on the road when Kashmir police came and fired indiscriminately. At first we could not understand what was going on,” said an eyewitness. “One among the three ran towards a nearby narrow lane. He was taken back to the road and fired until he died and then they took away the bodies,” said the eyewitness.
