Fire Ravages Homes in South Kashmir, Leaving Families Homeless

Srinagar, A devastating fire in South Kashmir’s Islamabad district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has resulted in significant damage to at least nine residential houses, leaving several families without shelter.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the fire originated in the Boat Colony in the Khanabal area of the district, quickly spreading to nearby homes. Officials reported that while the fire was eventually brought under control, it caused partial damage to several residences. The affected houses were identified as belonging to Abdul Ghani Wani, Muhammad Ashraf Pushu, Sajjad Wani, Mushtaq Handroo, Nisar Ahmed Gadda, Baby Jan, Mukhtar Ahmed Guru, and Javaid Ahmed Shaksaaz.

The incident has reportedly rendered thirteen families homeless. Following the fire, police have initiated an investigation to determine the cause and assess the full extent of the damage.

This fire incident underscores the vulnerability of communities in conflict-affected areas, where safety measures and emergency responses are often hampered by ongoing tensions and instability.
