Srinagar: Two residential houses and ten shops were completely destroyed in a fire that swept through Bandipora district in the Indian-administered region of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, the incident took place in the Hajin area where a fire ignited in a shopping complex and quickly spread to adjacent structures. The blaze caused significant damage to four shopping complexes in total.
Officials reported that the fire, which affected the shopping complexes, also engulfed two nearby residential houses, leaving them gutted.
Emergency services were deployed to the site to contain the fire and prevent further damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
