Karachi: Deputy Mayor Karachi, Salman Abdullah Murad, announced that a fire at Rampa Plaza on MA Jinnah Road was controlled on Tuesday morning, with no casualties reported. The fire was managed with the help of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) staff, who remained at the site to complete the process and assess the damage.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the fire was reported promptly, and Municipal Commissioner Baldia Uzma instructed immediate action, deploying all necessary resources to control the situation. Additional fire tenders were on standby, and the MD of the Water and Sewerage Corporation was engaged to ensure a continuous water supply. Water tankers were dispatched from nearby hydrants to assist in extinguishing the blaze.
Deputy Mayor Murad maintained continuous communication with relevant departments, including the fire brigade and Rescue 1122, to monitor the situation. He issued ongoing instructions to officers and institutions to ensure the safety of citizens and property, emphasizing the importance of swift action and coordination among all parties involved in the firefighting effort.
