Washington: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has stressed the importance of maintaining the momentum of economic reforms in the face of significant global economic challenges. These challenges include geopolitical dynamics, trade fragmentation, and rising protectionism.
The Finance Minister shared his views during a meeting with the Finance Ministers of the G-24 and Central Bank Governors. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the Annual Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Washington.
During the discussions, Aurangzeb highlighted Pakistan’s macroeconomic stability, which he attributed to a resilient banking system and ongoing structural reforms.
Furthermore, he underscored the critical role of regional corridors and trade connectivity in boosting investment and trade flows. He also emphasized the significance of South-South collaboration as a means to strengthen economic ties and promote development.
