Finance Minister Sets Revenue Goals at FBR Meeting

Islamabad, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb, chaired a pivotal meeting at the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Headquarters today to evaluate the agency’s performance in revenue collection for the fiscal year 2023-24. The session aimed at enhancing operational efficiencies and expanding Pakistan’s tax base.

According to Press Information Department, the meeting saw comprehensive discussions on current revenue achievements and the digitalization initiatives of the FBR, as briefed by the FBR Chairman. The presence of the Attorney General Mr. Mansoor Usman Awan underscored the importance of resolving pending legal cases to free up revenue. Minister Aurangzeb stressed the necessity of meeting this year’s revenue targets and called for concerted efforts to devise strategies that would increase the tax-to-GDP ratio and broaden the tax base.
