Finance Minister Reviews FBR’s Strategies to Meet Revenue Targets at Headquarters Meeting

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb presided over a crucial meeting at the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Headquarters today, where discussions centered on strategies to meet the current financial year’s revenue collection targets.

According to Federal Board of Revenue, the meeting was attended by State Minister for Finance and Revenue, Mr. Ali Pervez Malik, the newly appointed Chairman of the FBR, Mr. Rashid Mahmood Langrial, along with other senior members and officers of the Board. The Federal Minister took the opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of the former Chairman FBR, Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana, particularly highlighting his role in the budgeting process and negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The session included comprehensive presentations by the Member Inland Revenue (Operations), Mir Badshah Khan Wazir, and Member Customs (Operations), Mr. Ashhad Jawwad, which detailed the operational strategies and challenges in their respective domains. Discussions also focused on enhancing the FBR’s efforts to maximize revenue collection and expand the tax base, essential for Pakistan’s sustained economic development.

Minister Aurangzeb expressed his confidence in the new leadership’s ability to drive the organization towards achieving these ambitious financial targets, emphasizing the importance of continuous improvement and adaptive strategies in the face of evolving economic challenges.
