Washington: Finance Minister Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb met with Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser, President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), to discuss the bank’s ongoing support for Pakistan’s developmental projects. The meeting highlighted IsDB’s significant contributions across various sectors and explored future collaborative opportunities, including the co-financing of large-scale infrastructure projects.
According to Press Information Department, Mr. Aurangzeb expressed appreciation for IsDB’s robust partnership in advancing Pakistan’s infrastructure in energy, transportation, education, and health. He specifically mentioned the IsDB’s role in funding the Mohmand Dam project, which is seen as a template for future initiatives involving the Arab Coordination Group. The Finance Minister also highlighted the recent visit by the Saudi Minister for Investment, emphasizing its importance in strengthening business-to-business engagements between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan’s private sectors.
The dialogue reaffirmed the strong ties between Pakistan and the Islamic Development Bank, with both sides committed to enhancing their partnership to support Pakistan’s economic and developmental goals.
