Finance Minister of Pakistan and UK Minister Discuss Economic Cooperation and Regional Stability


Islamabad: Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, engaged in discussions with Mr. Hamish Falconer, the UK’s Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Middle East, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, focusing on regional developments and economic strategies. The meeting took place at the Finance Division and included discussions on macroeconomic outlooks, structural reforms, and strengthening Pakistan-UK economic relations.



According to Press Information Department, the meeting saw the participation of Ms. Jane Marriott, British High Commissioner to Pakistan, along with other senior officials. The Finance Minister shared insights on Pakistan’s economic reform agenda, emphasizing macroeconomic stability, structural reforms, and growth. Discussions also touched upon recent regional developments, particularly the easing tensions between the US and Iran, and their potential implications for economic confidence and growth.



The meeting further explored Pakistan’s fiscal reform efforts, highlighting revenue mobilization and tax administration modernization. Mr. Falconer appreciated Pakistan’s comprehensive reform measures and reinforced the UK’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s economic transformation and regional stability. Both parties reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening economic cooperation and promoting sustainable growth.
