Finance Minister Leads Cabinet Committee Meeting to Bolster State-Owned Enterprises


Islamabad: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb today presided over a key session of the Cabinet Committee on State-Owned Enterprises, focused on enhancing the management and strategic direction of major public entities including Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) and National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC).



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the committee approved the nominations proposed by the Finance and Power Divisions for appointing independent directors and chairpersons to the boards of ZTBL and NTDC, respectively. This move is part of a broader effort to improve governance and operational efficiencies within these vital state-owned enterprises.



Additionally, the Cabinet Committee addressed a proposal from the Ministry of Housing and Works, designating the Pakistan Housing Authority Foundation (PHA-F) as an essential entity. This categorization mandates the presentation of a revised operational plan to further solidify PHA-F’s role in national housing development.



The decisions made during this meeting underscore the government’s commitment to strengthening the administrative framework and oversight of state-owned enterprises, pivotal to Pakistan’s economic stability and growth.
