Lahore: Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, along with Minister of State for Finance and Revenue, Mr. Ali Pervaiz Malik, inaugurated the Central Secretariat for the Tajir Dost Scheme during their visit to the Regional Tax Office (RTO) Lahore today. The visit included a comprehensive review of the scheme’s performance and discussions on advancing tax collection initiatives.
According to Press Information Department, the ministers were briefed on the operations and impact of the Tajir Dost Scheme by senior RTO officials, including Chief Commissioner Mr. Ahmad Shuja Khan and other key coordinators. Senator Aurangzeb praised RTO Lahore for its leading role in trader registrations, which currently boasts the highest number in Pakistan, totaling 24,814.
During the visit, the Finance Minister also engaged with trade representatives, soliciting feedback to refine and improve the scheme. He emphasized the importance of implementing their suggestions efficiently to enhance the scheme’s effectiveness and further advance tax collection efforts in the region.
