Finance Minister expresses desire to deepen Pak-US trade

Islamabad, April 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar says Pakistan is desirous of further deepening bilateral trade and investment ties with the United States. He was talking to US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome who called on him in Islamabad on Thursday.

The Finance Minister told the US ambassador about the economic outlook of Pakistan and the challenges being faced by it. He further shared the pragmatic policy decisions being taken by the government to steer the economy to a positive trajectory leading to economic stability and growth.

The Finance Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to complete the IMF program. On the occasion, Donald Blome expressed confidence in the policies of the government being taken for economic sustainability of the country and socio-economic uplift of the people.

He extended his support to further promote bilateral economic, investment and trade relations between both the countries. The two sides also exchanged views on matters of common interest and showed interest in enhancing the existing bilateral relations between both countries. They also talked about avenues in which both countries can further strengthen their ties.
