Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, convened a meeting with a delegation from the American Business Council (ABC) led by Kamran Ataullah Khan, President of ABC and Country Manager/CEO of Dupont. The discussion centered on enhancing economic cooperation between Pakistan and the United States and fostering an environment conducive to foreign investment.
According to Press Information Department, the delegation included key figures such as Tushna Patel, Vice President of ABC and Executive Director of AICT; Syed Khurram Shah, Executive Director at PepsiCo; Adnan Shafi, CEO of PriceOye Technologies; Asif Ahmed, General Manager at IBM; and Tariq Saeed, Government Relations Advisor at Cargill. They presented issues faced by the business community and highlighted growth opportunities in sectors like technology, agriculture, and consumer goods, emphasizing the contributions of ABC member companies to Pakistan’s economy.
Senator Aurangzeb acknowledged the American Business Council’s efforts in enhancing bilateral economic relations and expressed the government’s commitment to supporting foreign investors and resolving their challenges. He outlined the government’s structural reforms agenda, focused on expanding the tax base and addressing economic inefficiencies, without granting exemptions to any economic sectors. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the government’s dedication to reforms that ensure economic stability and promote sustainable growth.
