Finance Minister Engages US DFC in Talks on Investment Opportunities


Washington: Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, engaged in discussions with Mr. Dev Jagadesan, the Acting CEO of the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), to explore avenues for economic cooperation between the two nations. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings.



The Finance Minister provided an overview of Pakistan’s macroeconomic outlook, emphasizing the country’s potential for investment projects. He highlighted Reko Diq as one of the key projects in the pipeline that could attract significant interest from investors.



During the meeting, Aurangzeb expressed appreciation for the involvement of senior US officials in the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum. He underscored the potential for deepening cooperation between Pakistan and the United States, suggesting that both countries could benefit from a strengthened economic partnership.



This meeting signifies a step towards fostering economic ties between Pakistan and the United States, with a focus on investment opportunities that could drive growth and development.
