Finance Minister Discusses Bilateral Cooperation with Turkish Ambassador.


Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb met with Mr. Irfan Neziroglu, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye to Pakistan, during a meeting at the Finance Division. The meeting focused on the historical and longstanding ties between Pakistan and Turkiye, with particular emphasis on enhancing bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, and defense. Senator Aurangzeb extended a warm welcome to Mr. Neziroglu on his diplomatic assignment in Pakistan and underscored the potential for increasing the current volume of bilateral trade between the two nations.



According to Press Information Department, Senator Aurangzeb recalled his recent meeting with Mr. Mehmet Simsek, Turkiye’s Treasury and Finance Minister, held in Washington DC during the World Bank Group/IMF Annual Meetings 2024. He noted that Pakistan could benefit from Turkiye’s experience in power sector reforms. The Minister invited Turkish firms to explore joint ventures with Pakistani counterparts, especially in information technology and agriculture sectors. Mr. Neziroglu expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s economic reforms and macroeconomic stability, assuring his commitment to strengthening the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Turkiye.
