Washington: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has extended an invitation to U.S. businesses to invest in Pakistan’s agriculture, information technology, and energy sectors, emphasizing the potential for growth and collaboration in these fields. During a meeting with the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs, Aurangzeb highlighted the longstanding Pak-U.S. economic partnership, acknowledging its critical role in Pakistan’s socio-economic development.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Aurangzeb’s meetings in Washington included discussions with the UAE’s Minister of State for Financial Affairs, Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini. The Finance Minister expressed appreciation for the UAE’s support for Pakistan’s external account, underscoring the regional financial alliance.
Aurangzeb also met with representatives from Fitch Ratings, briefing them on Pakistan’s recent economic performance. In a separate discussion with a team from Standard Chartered Bank, the Finance Minister acknowledged the Bank’s long-term partnership with Pakistan, exploring future financial collaborations to bolster Pakistan’s economic framework.
