Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb presided over a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on State-Owned Enterprises (CCoSOEs) at the Finance Division today. The meeting focused on the categorization of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) as strategic, essential, or otherwise, and was attended by several key government officials.
According to Press Information Department, the meeting included participation from Minister for Housing and Works Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Minister for Maritime Affairs Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), federal secretaries, and other senior officers from relevant ministries.
The committee reviewed and approved summaries presented by the Power Division, the Ministry of Industries and Production, and the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development. However, the agenda item from the Petroleum Division was deferred for further deliberations.
This meeting underscores the government’s ongoing efforts to manage and optimize the performance of state-owned enterprises, ensuring their alignment with national strategic and economic goals.
