Washington DC: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb, recently addressed a critical issue at the World Bank’s high-level event, “Growing Stronger: An Urgent Call to Improve Child Nutrition.” The minister outlined the severe challenge of child stunting in Pakistan, especially in rural regions, advocating for a coordinated strategy spanning multiple sectors.
According to Press Information Department, Mr. Aurangzeb emphasized the need for significant policy shifts to fund solutions effectively. He proposed tax reforms, reductions in energy subsidies, and better management of state-owned enterprises as ways to allocate more resources toward combating climate change, managing population growth, and ultimately decreasing the rate of child stunting.

The Finance Minister’s participation underscores Pakistan’s commitment to addressing this pressing health issue with comprehensive policy measures.
