Islamabad, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb convened a meeting with Mr. Keith Svendsen, CEO of APM Terminals, accompanied by Ambassador H.E. Jakob Linulf and representatives from APM Terminals at the Finance Division today. The meeting, attended by Secretary Maritime Affairs, representatives from APM, and senior officers from FBR and Finance Division, focused on discussing operations and future collaborations between the Pakistani government and APM Terminals.
According to Ministry of Finance, Senator Aurangzeb began the discussion by expressing appreciation to the Danish Government for its support, particularly through grants for flood-affected communities and pledges made during the Geneva conference. He highlighted the importance of leveraging this support to strengthen economic relations between Pakistan and Denmark.
The Finance Minister briefed the representatives on the government’s reform agenda, emphasizing its commitment to improving the business environment and attracting investments. He expressed eagerness to explore opportunities for collaboration with APM, especially in the maritime sector.
Mr. Keith Svendsen conveyed APM Terminals’ willingness to engage with the Government of Pakistan to discuss ongoing and future projects. He expressed confidence in Pakistan’s market potential and affirmed the company’s commitment to enhancing its investment and operations to support the country’s trade and development agenda.
The discussion also touched upon the need for streamlining customs rules and regulations to facilitate maritime affairs efficiently. Senator Aurangzeb assured his support in addressing these issues.
Both parties acknowledged the significance of sustained dialogue and collaboration between the public and private sectors to strengthen economic ties and foster mutual growth.
