ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb engaged in discussions with a delegation from the Insurance Association of Pakistan (IAP) to address issues pertinent to the insurance sector in light of the upcoming Federal Budget 2026-27.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting, held in Islamabad, was attended by IAP Chairman Shoaib Javed Hussain and other key representatives. The Finance Minister welcomed the delegation, highlighting the importance of ongoing dialogue with critical sectors to ensure that policy measures effectively align with economic priorities and foster long-term financial stability and growth.
The delegation put forward a series of proposals centered on taxation and regulatory matters affecting the insurance industry. Discussions during the meeting covered various elements of the current taxation framework, particularly the interaction between federal and provincial levies, and their potential impact on the sector.
