Lahore: Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb officially inaugurated the Central Secretariat for the Tajir Dost Scheme at the Regional Tax Office (RTO) in Lahore, marking a significant step in enhancing tax operations and trader engagement in the region.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during the inauguration, the RTO Lahore provided a detailed briefing on the operations and impact of the Tajir Dost Scheme. Minister Aurangzeb commended the scheme’s performance in Lahore, emphasizing the importance of its effective implementation and the proactive collection of advance taxes from local traders.
The Minister issued directives to simplify the tax return process for traders by introducing easier tax return forms. Additionally, he met with trade representatives to gather feedback on improving the scheme, instructing that these recommendations be efficiently implemented to boost the scheme’s effectiveness.
Highlighting the success of the initiative, the RTO Lahore has achieved the highest number of trader registrations in Pakistan, with nearly twenty-five thousand registrations to date.
