Islamabad: In a critical meeting today at the Finance Division, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb engaged with representatives from global consulting firm Kearney and the Public Private Partnership Authority (P3A). Discussions centered on advancing public sector restructuring and privatization initiatives crucial to Pakistan’s economic development.
According to Press Information Department, the Kearney delegation outlined their current projects under the SIFC program, aimed at restructuring public entities. They informed the Minister about the progress in finalizing the list of entities targeted for restructuring and identified priority areas for immediate intervention. Senator Aurangzeb expressed appreciation for Kearney’s efforts and emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships (PPPs) in driving national development. He highlighted the pivotal role of the private sector in these partnerships and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to its privatization agenda and reforms in state-owned enterprises (SOE).
The meeting marked a significant step towards reinforcing the collaboration between Kearney, P3A, and the Pakistani government, underlining a collective commitment to enhancing the efficiency and productivity of the public sector through strategic partnerships and privatization.
