Finance Minister Aurangzeb Calls for Global Cooperation on Climate and Development at G-24 Meeting


Washington DC: During the G-24 Ministers and Governors Meeting, Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb, Pakistan’s Minister for Finance and Revenue, emphasized the urgency for collaborative efforts to tackle global challenges like climate change, population growth, and child stunting. His comments came as he took on the role of Second Vice Chair of the G-24 Bureau for the fiscal year 2024-25.



According to Press Information Department, Minister Aurangzeb’s speech highlighted the critical need to reduce the debt burdens on developing nations, push for robust climate action, and secure more significant representation for developing countries in international financial institutions like the Bretton Woods institutions. His appointment as Vice Chair is seen as a strategic platform to advance these issues that are pivotal not only to Pakistan but to all developing nations globally.
