Finance Minister Approves Supplementary Grants for Projects, Ensures Urea Supply

Islamabad: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet, chaired by Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, approved several Technical Supplementary Grants (TSGs) to support ongoing projects and services across various sectors. According to Press Information Department, the ECC sanctioned a TSG of Rs. 2,192.8 million for the NADRA-TDP-ERP/KP-CCSDP project to maintain its operations under the World Bank-financed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Citizen Centered Service Delivery Project.

Additionally, the ECC approved a Rs. 5 billion TSG for the Directorate General Immigration and Passports to address liabilities related to passport booklet printing and ensure continuous passport services. The Committee also endorsed a Rs. 2,124.2 million adjustment in PSDP allocations for three development projects under the Interior Division, including a model prison in Islamabad, a national police hospital, and security facilities for foreign nationals.

A further Rs. 240.5 million TSG was approved for the Anti-Narcotics Force to repair helicopters necessary for its operational needs. The ECC also extended the gas supply arrangements for SNGPL-based urea manufacturing plants, FatimaFert and Agritech, until June 30, 2026, to stabilize fertilizer availability and maintain the domestic urea market. The meeting was attended by key federal ministers and senior officials from relevant ministries and regulatory authorities.
