Finance Minister Advocates for Expanded Tax Base and Digital Tax Reforms

Islamabad, In discussions with representatives from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) today, Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb emphasized the importance of expanding Pakistan’s tax base and advancing the digitalization of the tax regime. The meeting, held in Islamabad, focused on enhancing ongoing cooperation and setting the groundwork for future initiatives between Pakistan and the ADB.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Finance Minister highlighted the recent improvements in Pakistan’s macroeconomic conditions and reiterated the government’s commitment to state-owned enterprise (SOE) reforms and its privatization agenda. The ADB delegation commended Pakistan’s proactive efforts to foster economic stability and expressed their continued support for Pakistan’s economic development.
