Srinagar, December 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):Israeli award-winning filmmaker Nadav Lapid has received support from People’s Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti, who endorsed his criticism of the controversial Bollywood movie ‘The Kashmir Files’. Mehbooba Mufti in a tweet said, the movie is a “sheer propaganda promoted by the ruling [Hindutva] party to demonize Muslims, especially Kashmiris”.

Lapid, who headed the jury at the 53rd International Film Festival of India in Goa, said during the closing ceremony that ‘The Kashmir Files’ was a “propaganda and vulgar movie” that had no place at a film festival, leaving Hindutva brigade spitting venom against him on electronic and social media across India.

“Finally someone called out a movie that was nothing but sheer propaganda promoted by the ruling party to demonize Muslims especially Kashmiris and widen the gulf between Pandits and Muslims. Sad that diplomatic channels are now being used to silence the truth,” Mehbooba Mufti tweeted.
