Islamabad: Federal Secretary for Education, Dr. Nadeem Mahboob, addressed a panel discussion on “Federal and Provincial Education Updates” during the Inter-Provincial Ministerial Forum in Islamabad. The session, aimed at discussing educational strategies and updates across various regions, saw participation from key provincial education representatives.
Dr. Mahboob outlined several federal initiatives designed to enhance the educational landscape. Among them were Digital Literacy Programs, the School Meal Program, Financial Literacy initiatives, Sports-based activities, and reforms in Foundational Learning Policy. These efforts underscore the federal government’s commitment to improving education across the country.
The federal secretary emphasized the government’s role in policy-making, standardization, and international reporting. He stressed the importance of collaboration with provincial authorities to effectively tackle national challenges, including out-of-school children and learning poverty. These issues have been highlighted in the National Education Policy Development Framework 2024, which calls for a united response.
The panel included notable participants such as Parliamentary Secretary for Education Punjab Ms. Nosheen Adnan, Secretary Education Punjab, Additional Secretary KP, and a representative from the Sindh Government. Their presence marked a significant step towards fostering inter-provincial cooperation to address educational challenges.
