Rawalpindi: Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, has strongly condemned remarks by Maulana Fazlur Rehman, President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), equating the sacrifices of Pakistan’s Armed Forces personnel with their salaries. Chaudhry stated that such statements deeply hurt the sentiments of martyrs’ families and the nation.
According to Press Information Department, Barrister Danyal emphasized that the sacrifices of soldiers who lay down their lives for the motherland reflect patriotism, faith, duty, and selflessness—values that cannot be measured in financial terms. He stated, “No one sacrifices their life for money. It is love for the nation and a sense of duty that drives them.”
Chaudhry highlighted that Pakistan’s Armed Forces personnel sacrifice their lives daily to defend the country and protect its people, contributing to the peace and stability prevailing in Pakistan today. He described martyrdom as a sacred status attained through faith and sacrifice, noting that reducing it to material gain diminishes its exalted rank.
He also pointed out that as a senior politician, Maulana Fazlur Rehman is expected to exercise greater responsibility and caution in his discourse. “Statements concerning national security, the Armed Forces, and martyrs must be made with care to avoid hurting emotions,” Chaudhry remarked.
The Parliamentary Secretary reaffirmed that the nation takes immense pride in its martyrs and will always honor their sacrifices with the highest respect.
