Federal Ministers Call for Immediate Improvements at Lahore Airport

Lahore, During a visit to the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, Federal Ministers Mohsin Naqvi and Khawaja Muhammad Asif expressed dissatisfaction with the current passenger facilities and ordered immediate enhancements. The visit aimed to address the complexities of the immigration process and the general passenger experience.

According to Press Information Department, the ministers, overseeing interior and aviation portfolios respectively, identified several areas for rapid improvement. These include increasing the number of immigration counters and streamlining the existing three-tier search process to expedite passenger flow. Minister Naqvi directed the Airport Security Force (ASF), Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), and Customs to develop a comprehensive plan within 24 hours to overhaul the airport’s facilities.

The federal ministers also outlined a vision for the airport that includes a simplified search procedure, which, following successful trials in Lahore, is expected to be implemented across other Pakistani airports. Immediate measures have been ordered to facilitate a smoother and more efficient experience for passengers, emphasizing the need for swift and substantial action to upgrade airport operations.
