Federal Minister Urges Supreme Court for Swift Decision in Mubarik Sani Case, Emphasizes Role of Scholars in National Unity


Islamabad: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, has called on the Supreme Court to expedite the release of a detailed decision on the Mubarik Sani case, stressing the anticipation of the nation for the verdict. In a comprehensive address during a meeting with prominent Islamic scholars, Hussain highlighted the essential role of faith and the responsibility of scholars in fostering national unity and combating terrorism.



According to Press Information Department, Chaudhry Salik Hussain articulated the government’s standpoint on the significant influence religious scholars hold in shaping a peaceful society. He emphasized that the true leaders of the Muslim faith are scholars and saints, rather than those who challenge the state’s authority through violence. The minister underscored the urgency of the Supreme Court’s detailed judgment on the Mubarik Sani case, which has captured national interest.



The minister also noted that faith in the End of Prophethood is a core element of every Muslim’s belief system, and that the government has commenced consultations with scholars and leaders of other faiths to eradicate terrorism. He expressed a firm stance against the misuse of Islam’s name for inciting violence and terrorism, declaring any armed rebellion against the state as acts of terrorism.



Furthermore, Hussain advocated for a united front against terrorism, driven by the collective voice of scholars promoting unity and solidarity. He confirmed that the government plans to implement scholarly recommendations concerning terrorism, aiming to secure a peaceful future for coming generations. The meeting also saw the participation of esteemed figures such as Jafiz Farooq Awan from Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith, member Islamic Ideological Council Agha Iftikhar Naqvi, Director General of the International Islamic University Professor Zia-ul-Haq, and Maulana Imran Attari, all of whom echoed the minister’s sentiments on the critical role of scholarship in national discourse.
