Islamabad: Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Syed Imran Ahmad Shah, is set to participate in the Turkish Festival in Chicago on August 1-2, an event organized by the Zakat Foundation of America. The festival aims to facilitate dialogue among the Turkish, Pakistani, Arab, and broader Muslim communities on significant social and humanitarian issues.

According to Press Information Department, the Federal Minister will address an international session titled “Poverty: A Global Threat,” where he will discuss Pakistan’s poverty alleviation efforts, social protection initiatives, and the Ministry’s role in aiding vulnerable communities. He is also expected to share insights and recommendations for combating poverty through international cooperation.

On the second day, Syed Imran Ahmad Shah will attend a session focusing on Mawlana Jalaluddin Rumi’s teachings. His remarks will explore Rumi’s messages of love, peace, spirituality, and humanity, while emphasizing the cultural and spiritual ties between Pakistan and Türkiye.

In addition to his participation in the festival, the Federal Minister will visit the Zakat Foundation of America’s headquarters. There, he will meet with CEO Halil Demir and engage with the Pakistani-American community. Discussions will revolve around the Foundation’s humanitarian efforts in Pakistan and globally, focusing on potential collaborations in poverty alleviation and social welfare.
