Federal Minister Reassures American Businesses of Pro-Business Policies

Lahore: The newly appointed Federal Minister for Petroleum, Ali Pervaiz Malik, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fostering a pro-business environment for both local and foreign investors. Addressing a delegation from the American Business Forum (ABF) in Lahore, Malik emphasized the administration’s dedication to creating an investor-friendly climate.

During the meeting with more than 25 companies represented by the ABF, Malik expressed gratitude to Dr. Faisal Hashmi, Vice President of ABF, and its members for facilitating the dialogue. He highlighted the importance of maintaining a regulatory and taxation framework conducive to investment, which he argued is crucial for building investor confidence and attracting foreign direct investment (FDI).

The ABF session, chaired by Kamran Atta Khan, CEO of Dupont Operations in Pakistan and President of ABF, focused on strengthening ties between the business community and the government. The ABF Board of Directors praised the government’s collaborative approach and Malik’s active engagement with business leaders.

Dr. Hashmi acknowledged Malik’s efforts to address the concerns of businesses and his commitment to a partnership-oriented approach. This session comes as the State Bank of Pakistan reports an increase in FDI flows, which reached $141 million in April 2025, up from $26 million in March 2025.
