Lahore: Federal Minister for Industries Rana Tanveer Hussain has called for a significant push towards adopting solar energy and electric vehicles in Pakistan to provide relief to the populace and reduce the country’s import dependency.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, speaking at an event in Lahore, Minister Hussain announced that the government will introduce a new policy next month aimed at boosting the electric vehicle market in response to their rising demand. He highlighted that the adoption of electric vehicles is expected to reduce Pakistan’s reliance on petrol imports, which could have a favorable impact on the nation’s economy.
The minister also stressed the importance of solar energy in alleviating energy shortages and providing a sustainable and economical power solution for the people of Pakistan. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance environmental sustainability and economic stability through reduced fossil fuel usage.
