Karachi: In a pivotal meeting orchestrated by Honourable Federal Minister Mr. Qaiser Ahmed Shaikh, major stakeholders convened to tackle pressing issues faced by the Karachi Dock Labour Board (KDLB). The successful dialogue led to the resolution of disputes and a peaceful conclusion to the ongoing protests.
According to Press Information Department, the gathering included notable figures such as Agha Rafi Ullah MNA, Asif Khan MPA, and Syed Syedain Raza Zaidi, Chairman of the Karachi Port Trust (KPT), along with representatives from KDLB including Ahmed Saeed, Hussaini Prayl, and Hussain Badshah. Bashir Memon, President of PML Sindh, and general managers from KPT were also present. The discussions under the minister’s leadership effectively addressed various operational and administrative concerns, fostering enhanced cooperation between KDLB and KPT.
The resolutions reached at the meeting have led to the cessation of the protests, marking significant progress in addressing the needs and concerns of all stakeholders involved in the operations of Karachi’s port. This development is expected to improve the working conditions and efficiency at one of Pakistan’s most critical economic hubs.
