Federal Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb Discusses Energy Projects and Economic Reforms with PMLTC Executives


Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb met today with Pak Matiari-Lahore Transmission Company (PMLTC) executives, including President and CEO Ms. Zhang Lei, Deputy CEO Mr. Ma Desheng, and CFO Mr. Wang Bo at the Finance Division. The meeting focused on the progress of the Matiari-Lahore HVDC project, potential opportunities in hybrid renewable energy, hydrogen production, and financial issues such as currency conversion and sales tax recovery.



According to Press Information Department, Ms. Zhang Lei congratulated Senator Aurangzeb on his recent appointment and commended the government’s structural reforms. She provided an overview of China Electric Power Equipment and Technology Co. Ltd.’s international projects and its ongoing initiatives in Pakistan. The Finance Minister acknowledged PMLTC’s role in infrastructure development and assured the delegation of the government’s support to address their concerns, highlighting the significance of completing the IMF program to enhance foreign exchange reserves and ongoing power sector reforms in Pakistan. The meeting concluded with mutual expressions of optimism for future cooperation in advancing Pakistan’s energy sector and economic growth.
