Federal Minister Meets BISP Chairperson to Discuss Key Social Programs


Islamabad: Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Seyed Imran Ahmad Shah, met with Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), to discuss the progress and effectiveness of several key social initiatives under the BISP umbrella.



The conversation between the two officials covered initiatives such as the Benazir Nashonuma Programme, Benazir Taleemi Wazaif, and Benazir Kafalat Programme. The focus was on strategies to enhance the reach and impact of these programs, which are aimed at supporting the country’s most vulnerable populations.



A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to the Benazir Hunarmand Programme, an initiative designed to equip youth with vocational and technical skills for self-reliance. The Federal Minister praised the program’s structure and vision, describing it as pivotal for the future well-being of the youth and a substantial step towards sustainable poverty alleviation.



Minister Shah commended the leadership of BISP Chairperson Ms. Rubina Khalid and Secretary Mr. Amir Ali, highlighting their commitment and dedication to the cause. He stressed the importance of strong leadership in maintaining the program’s success and integrity.



The meeting ended with a mutual pledge to bolster cooperation and enhance the impact of BISP initiatives throughout Pakistan.
