Islamabad: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik inaugurated new residential blocks at the Katas Raj Temple in Chakwal, signaling an effort to enhance religious tourism and safeguard minority rights. The minister emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to protecting religious sites of all faiths, highlighting the importance of religious inclusivity and minority representation in the nation.
According to Press Information Department, Chaudhry Salik spoke about the government’s efforts to beautify sacred sites of various religions and expressed a commitment to addressing injustices faced by minorities in other regions, particularly in India. He assured that Pakistan’s government would advocate internationally against the oppression of Muslims in India. The minister also highlighted that the cost of Hajj in Pakistan remains competitive despite economic challenges and assured that efforts are underway to facilitate visa issuance for pilgrims to Pakistan.
Chaudhry Salik addressed infrastructure concerns, noting that road repairs near Katas Raj Temple would be addressed by holding local factory owners accountable. He reiterated the government’s dedication to ensuring the rights and safety of all citizens, regardless of their background, while visiting the new residential complex alongside Ministry of Religious Affairs officials, Secretary Zulfiqar Haider and Additional Secretary Dr. Ataur Rehman.
