Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Champions Gwadar Port’s Role in Pakistan’s Economic Growth


Islamabad, In a significant meeting aimed at enhancing Gwadar Port’s import operations, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, outlined strategic initiatives to bolster economic activity and development in Balochistan.



According to Press Information Department, the session gathered key stakeholders including the Federal Secretary for Maritime Affairs and representatives from various ministries such as Finance, Commerce, and Industries and Production. Minister Sheikh emphasized the critical role of Gwadar Port in the nation’s economic prosperity and highlighted the Prime Minister’s directives to improve import procedures and capitalize on the port’s potential as a central economic hub.



The meeting revisited decisions by the Economic Coordination Committee and directives from the Prime Minister from 2008 and 2022, which prioritized economic stimulation in Gwadar. The Federal Minister urged all parties to collaborate closely to transform Gwadar Port into a dynamic trade and commerce center, signaling a unified effort to streamline import processes and accelerate regional development.
