Federal Minister for Housing Commends CCP’s Efforts in Housing Sector

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Housing and Works, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, visited the Headquarters of the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) to engage with its Chairman, Dr. Kabir Ahmed Sidhu. The meeting focused on the CCP’s recent efforts to enhance fair competition and curb deceptive marketing practices in the housing sector.

Chairman Sidhu provided an overview of the Commission’s enforcement and advocacy measures. He highlighted actions taken to address misleading marketing and initiatives aimed at promoting fair competition within the sector.

Minister Pirzada expressed satisfaction with the CCP’s rigorous enforcement actions and significant achievements. He noted the progress made in clearing a backlog of pending court cases and the recovery of penalties. The Minister also appreciated the CCP’s organizational reforms, including the creation of a Centre of Excellence, collaborative efforts with other organizations, and capacity-building programs designed to strengthen the Commission’s workforce.

The meeting underscored the CCP’s commitment to fostering a competitive environment in the housing sector, aligning with broader governmental objectives.
