Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb held a meeting with outgoing Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Mitsuhira Wada, at the Finance Division. The meeting focused on mutual interests, particularly the longstanding bilateral cooperation and shared values on regional and global matters between Pakistan and Japan.

According to Press Information Department, Mr. Mitsuhira Wada, who has completed his three-year tour in Pakistan, spoke about the steady growth of economic and diplomatic relations since 1952, when the two countries established diplomatic ties. He highlighted the positive trajectory of ongoing bilateral relations, which have seen increased trade and commerce, as well as cultural, sports, youth, and educational exchanges. Mr. Wada reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to supporting Pakistan in priority sectors such as health, education, environment, water, and governance.

Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb expressed appreciation for the bilateral cooperation and emphasized Japan’s role in helping Pakistan address economic challenges. He noted the potential for further strengthening ties through increased exchanges in trade, culture, education, and people-to-people interactions. The Minister provided an update on Pakistan’s economy, highlighting improvements in macroeconomic indicators and the government’s commitment to its reform agenda to maintain macroeconomic stability.
