Islamabad: A high-level meeting was convened under the leadership of Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal to review the progress of ongoing projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
According to Press Information Department, the meeting was attended by Secretary of Planning Awais Manzoor Sumra, Joint Chief Economist Operations Zafar-ul-Hassan, and other senior officials from the Ministry. Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal stressed the importance of engaging all provinces of Pakistan in the five-year CPEC development plan to ensure equal development opportunities across the country. He directed that all five corridors be interconnected, focusing on essential components such as CPEC Phase I and Phase II to achieve the project’s objectives.
The Federal Minister emphasized the timely completion of major projects like the ML-1 and the Karakoram Highway (KKH), instructing that regular monitoring be conducted to ensure adherence to timelines. He reiterated the critical role of CPEC projects in establishing Pakistan’s economic stability and contributing to the country’s progress and prosperity.
