Federal Minister Emphasizes Education Reform in Pakistan Inspired by Prophet Muhammad’s Teachings at Seerat Conference


Islamabad: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, stressed the need for educational reform aligned with the teachings of Prophet Muhammad at the 49th Seerat Conference. The conference, themed around the educational system in the light of the Prophet’s teachings, highlighted the critical role of knowledge and education in forming a balanced society and addressed challenges within Pakistan’s current educational framework.



According to Press Information Department, the Minister articulated the significance of integrating ethics, self-accountability, and equality into the national educational system to cultivate an intellectually and morally robust society. The discussion emphasized the historical contributions of Muslims to global knowledge and underscored the necessity for a uniform educational system reflective of Islamic principles. The event also revisited a recent Supreme Court case underscoring the national commitment to the Prophet’s honor, further tying in the broader theme of integrity and justice within societal systems.



The conference convened notable government officials, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, who echoed the importance of education in Islam and advocated for incorporating more of the Prophet’s life into the educational curriculum. The discussions covered a wide array of topics from religious obligations to seek knowledge, to the application of justice as a foundational principle in both Islamic and non-Islamic countries.



The event concluded with recognitions awarded to scholars and authors who have contributed significantly to Islamic education, emphasizing the government’s commitment to fostering an environment where educational pursuits are deeply intertwined with ethical and spiritual development.
