Federal Minister Discusses Religious Freedom with EU Envoy in Pakistan

Islamabad: The Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Human Rights, and Parliamentary Affairs, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, engaged in significant discussions with the EU Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion and Belief, Ambassador Frans Van Daele, focusing on enhancing religious freedom, safeguarding minority rights, and advancing legislative reforms in Pakistan.

According to Ministry of Human Rights, the meeting also included participation from the EU Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Riina Kionka, Political Counsellor Mrs. Rukiye Kumurcu, and Cooperative Associate Mr. Sebastien Lorion. The discussions underscored a mutual commitment to protect vulnerable communities and ensure justice across all sectors of society, reinforcing the collaborative efforts between Pakistan and the European Union in addressing these critical human rights issues.

The dialogue between the two sides highlighted ongoing and future initiatives aimed at bolstering legal frameworks and policies to support the rights of religious minorities. Both parties expressed a strong dedication to continuing their work together to promote tolerance and equality.
