Islamabad: In a commemorative message for National Minorities Day, Federal Minister for Human Rights, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to equality and the safeguarding of fundamental rights for all citizens, echoing the foundational ideals of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
According to Ministry of Human Rights, Senator Tarar reiterated the timeless words of Pakistan’s founder: ‘You are free; you are free to go to your temples, you are free to go to your mosques or to any other place of worship in this State of Pakistan.’ He underscored the nation’s dedication to realizing Jinnah’s vision of a pluralistic society where every individual, regardless of faith, color, caste, race, or religion, has equal access to rights and opportunities.
The minister lauded the substantial contributions of minorities in various sectors of national life, stating that their active participation is crucial to strengthening the country’s resolve to foster a more inclusive and tolerant society. This vision, he noted, is symbolized in the national flag, representing a unified commitment to diversity and tolerance.
