Federal Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar Discusses Digital Safety Initiatives with UNDP in Islamabad

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Human Rights and Parliamentary Affairs, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, engaged in a strategic meeting with a UNDP delegation led by Chief Technical Advisor Dr. Ali Al-Bayati. The session centered on enhancing digital safety and combating misinformation in Pakistan. Key topics included the launch of the Safe Digital Environment Programme (SDEP), the deployment of the iVerify Tool for accurate fact-checking, and training initiatives for media professionals, students, and government officials in digital literacy.

According to Ministry of Human Rights, the meeting underscored a collaborative effort between the Pakistani government and UNDP. The Minister expressed a strong commitment to partnership with UNDP in fostering a digitally secure and informed community. This initiative aims to empower individuals with the skills and tools necessary to navigate the digital landscape safely and responsibly.
